The number of light bulbs recycled annually has risen from 70 million in 1997 to 156 million in 2003. Many companies offer the benefit of allowing you to mail-back your old, burnt-out lamps free of charge. Some light bulbs, like CFLs, contain dangerous materials like mercury. This makes their proper disposal even more important. According to the Solid Waste Authority: "A Special Waste is any material that is not Municipal Solid Waste (normal garbage or trash) and requires special handling due to its size, physical characteristics, source, packaging, regulatory classification, recordkeeping needs, or any other trait which may potentially impact employees or facilities"
Through a 3 step process, Green Atom Consulting can assess your current waste management and recycling operations and recomend or implement time and cost saving measures.
Step 1: Audit
We begin our process by providing our customers with a complete waste audit at all of their service locations. Waste audits will reveal inadequate or incorrect service levels, excessive cost and billing errors. At the waste audit we also review all of our customers' service agreements to make sure that you are receiving the specified service for the specified price with no hidden charges.
Step 2: Evaluation
According to each evaluation, Green Atom Consulting will design a custom tailored solution that may include changing waste haulers, use of new technology, adjusting service levels and increased recycling.
Step 3: Savings
Green Atom Consulting can now create a custom solution with the best waste hauler available for each service location, and implement changes in equipment and/or service levels, while ensuring you the best possible price. Through our partner network, Green Atom Consulting will contract with the preferred waste hauler and manage the account directly. Through our partnership network, Green Atom Consulting is free to pick and choose the best waste hauler to suite your needs since we have no obligation to any particular hauler.
-Our Waste Management Division is also responsible for the safe disposal of lightbulbs during an lighting retrofit. We will provide a Certificate of Disposal for items that are removed and properly disposed of.
